A few years ago my wife and kids took me on an amazing boat ride in an old pirate ship around the Toronto harbour. No avid photographer would pass up the opportunity to take pictures while setting sail along the coast of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Even with 100’s of shots of the Toronto coast line and pictures of our picturesque islands I settled on looking up to find an awesome image.
What you are looking at is the forward mast of the Kajama, a 165 foot three masted Schooner boat. The ropes, seams and main mast of the sail lead to vertical lines that draw the viewer deep into the top of the picture. One of my all time favourite shots.
