Mother nature can be punishing. One of her least used punishments is an ice storm. Simple rain and cold temperatures can cause havoc. When thick ice builds up on power lines and tree branches their shear weight can bring them all down.
When the worst has come and gone what you are left with is some amazing subjects to shoot. This past winter we were hit with just that, an ice storm. We lost power for the better part of the day but luckily my camera’s batteries were fully charged. All of the pictures in this set came right out of my front yard. The ice that formed on the Christmas decorations alone took the better part of 2 months to melt.
