St. John’s parish is the oldest church in Barbados. It started as a simple wooden building but after massive hurricanes in 1675, 1780 and 1831 and many repairs it was rebuilt in 1836. It hasn’t been touched since. St. John’s churchyard contains the body of Ferdinand Paleologus who is a direct descendant of Constantine. If you ever travel to beautiful Barbados make sure you take a trip to see this incredible gothic parish, you won’t be disappointed.
The baroque style architecture is quite stunning. If you ever find yourself in Barbados a took of the grounds and church is a definite must.
